Emperor chapter 2
2.1
One after another the consul members left. Ric and Luc got in a car that Zack drives. They also get an escort of two cars with soldiers to acompany them. One more turn and they be able to see the gates to Gold sector (104) in the inner city.
Fire and smoke, as the escorting car infront of them gets blow up into pieces with an thundering noise. Bullets fly as they are under attack.
- We need to get out of here, before they blow up this car too. Damn they are everywhere. You see the ruined wall to the right? You two run into that building as i will try to cover you. Said Zack as Ric and Luc nodded their heads. He opens the door and start firing.
- NOW GO. He screams.
He don't need to ask twice. This is no place you wanna be. They go for the razed wall, as fast as they can.
As they get inside Luc say.
- Wow what a heck was that? As he takes a swing of his metal mug.
- Seems like we are right in lord Justice trouble. Right before we got in here, i saw a soldier set fire to one of those guys
With all the smoke, fires and explosion. It can't take long before Justice comes with more soldiers. Said Ric.
- Come on. The gates are so close. You don't think those guards will come and help us? Asked Luc.
- Don't count on it. They will not move from their post. But we need to try to get to them. We can't stay here. Ric said, as they hear fotsteps on the upper floor of the builiding. They try to be as quiet as possible, as they search for another way out of the house. They find a whole wall is gone, and they come out in an alley.
- Let's hurry, it's not far now. Luc say as they make their way down the alley.
- So close yet so far, goodbye. A voice says behind them. As they turn around they hear a gun and a man falls down, and they see zack standing there.
- We need to move fast. they probably heard that and soon find us. He said.
Three more thugs appears at the end of the alley. But a soldier come up behind Zack. Running past them shooting and screaming " JET CITY".
- Thanks for fanatics. Said Luc as they move through the ruined building.
Again they get shoot at. One of their followers must have come up to the second floor by the fire ladder in the alley they left
He hits Zack in the arm. But as he is ready to finish the job, he falls down shoot. Rick turns around and looks up and see a guard on the inner city walls waving.
- Move forward. I cover you if there's more. Reinforcements have arrived. He shouts.
Luc and Ric helps Zack to his feet. Luckily the bullet only snubbed him. A bit futher and they arrive at the gates. There are still two thugs putting up a fight. From a crossing street a motorcycle comes in high speed. He fires at them and drives away. Right then lord Justices warbus comes down the street. So the biker drives into the alley, Rick and the others fleed through.
The two remaing thugs flees right after him. The bus stops at the gate. To let Zack and the others aboard, to continue into the inner city.

Early next day lord Justice gets an update of all thats happend.
- So they were dressed as C.o.d. As they tried to take out Rick. Same as the other attacks. Do we know annything new? Justice asked.
- Yes, infact we do. One of them was not dressed as C.o.d. He was probably never intended to be part of the attack. But as a drastic messure, he got involved.
- The biker right? Have you identified him?
- Yes, as a member of Jackals. A small gang now since the majority of it's members left and formed the Dingo pack. Now they are mortal enemies. But who's behind all this we still don't know. it points to the consul. But that's not all that happend last night. Consul member Bill was Murded. Poison.
Lord Justice nods his head. After beign silent for several minutes he say.
- I have an idea that may work. many attack where in Dogtown. it has been a hard blow on the mutant citizens right?
- Yes sir that's correct.
- Send someone we can trust to Dogtown. I think we can find help there. But also look for info on mutant casualties in the other attacks too.
- As you wish lord Justice.
Two days later the consul are waiting for lord Justice. The five members that are still alive that is. Agatha who now is the only woman left in the consul. Owen who is the youngest of the members. Tobias with his red hair and beard. Allan the loudest member. Always has a need to be seen and heard. And last Ron. Who is the pure opposite of Allan. Quiet, thoughtful and tactical.
- So how long are we gonna wait for his highness? And what does he want? Maybe he resignes, as he clearly can't handle the situation. Says Allan.
- Behave yourself. The bombings and murders are not directed only at him. Two consul members are dead and many citizens. This is an attack on the whole city. Says Tobias, as Ron nods his head.
- That's true. But Allan got a point in that Justice Can't control this. maybe he should step down? Also we are two members short. He and the consul makes decision together, not him alone. I hope that's what he wants to discuss. said Agatha.
- Like you could have ressolved this so easy? I don't see that he has done anything to make it worse at least. Said Owen.
- Hummhp, mutterd Allan. You are so naive Owen.
Right then the door opens and lord Justice and a cople of guards comes in.
- Thank you all for coming, and sorry for letting you wait. He said.
- Any news on what's happening? Ron asked.
- Well i think we will be able to clear this out today.
- Really? Said Owen as his eyes got bigger by suprise.
- Yes, Bring her in now. Justice said to his guards.
They come back with a woman in her thirtys, with dark hair. Dressed in an open jacket over a dress. She looks around the room. Then looks to Justice that nods to her. She nods back and closes her eyes, Raises her arms and stands silent like that.
- What is this? Is she the leader for the ones tha done all this? Or is she some kind of entertainment? Standing like that, she only look like an idiot. Said Allan with a humiliating laugh.
- He that spoke. the woman said opening her eyes, and pointing at Allan.
- Is he the traitor? asked Justice
- No. But i can sense that he many times thought of overthrowing you, even assasination plans. The woman answered.
- What is this shit. I never seen her before in my life. I have always done my part. Do you belive this riff raff more than me? Asked Allan.
- Yes i do. Justice replied.
Allan looked puzzeld.
- But it's lies, i have nothing to do with this. You have to belive me. How could she know anything?
- Because she's an psi mutant. What the hell is a mutant doing in the inner city? Said Agatha with anger in her voice. You could see the fear in her eyes.
They all started to get up from their chairs.
- STOP! No one moves. Sit down. Guards if any of them moves shoot them. So if you have nothing to fear, be very still. Laura here is like you said a psi mutant. with the ability to read and see into other peoples mind. I'm sure the one that's responsible for all the trouble is here. Laura, please continue. said lord Justice.
She took the same stance as before. The room was dead quiet. Minutes passed, but felt like hours.
- It's not one but two. said Laura as she open her eyes, and pointed to Agatha and Ron.
- I'm so disappointed. Agatha, yes i could belive that. But you Ron. I thought higher of you. Said Justice as the guards took them away.
- Well played. But you were lucky this time. Said Ron with a smile and true hate in his eyes.
As the guards leave with the three traitors. Lord Justice thanks Laura for her help.
- I only did this because they killed my sister in one of the bombings. I wanted revenge. Don't ever contact me for something like this agian. As a psi mutant i'm lucky to be treated as a human if no one knows of my powers. Like most mutants i just want to be left alone in peace. Not used as tool or toy by humans. Other times they don'tcare for us a bit.
Justice nods his head
- Still thank you Laura. You have done a great favor to the whole city. You have saved many lives. He say as she leaves.

A couple of days later heard over the public radio channel in Jet city. Lord Justice have a massage to the citizens.
- Good evning my dear friends. I am pleased to finally let you know that the terror that have plauged our city recently is over. Ron, Allan and Agatha of the consul were the guilty ones. They wanted to throw Jet city into the same chaos we had during the Jet city war. All for their greed and selfish dreams. But thanks to citizens that really care and burns for this city. We could expose their plan and arrest them. We will now enter a new era. The consul is dissolved, Owen and Tobias will be my "expert advisours" as i will lead this city from here on. I must admit that i'm nervous for the task. But i know all of you are behind me. To help me in any way you can to keep Jet city as the beacon of light for all men and mutants. I know many of you have probably heard the rumours that the traitors have escaped. And it's with a heavy heart i have to tell you some of it is true. Allan was found hanged in his cell. But Agatha and Ron have escaped. They must have had help. So you see we have a big job ahead to get rid of all traitors. It may sound very bad, but be sure i and the Jet city army will catch the traitors. Sooner or later. A few days ago Rick Dawson left the city to spread his music and the hope of Jet city to the shanty towns in the waste. He told me to give you his best and to stay true to Jet city. So let us all do the same, and send our thoughts to him, as we listen to his " Hello to you all". And i end with saying good night to you all.
